The Founder and National Cordinator of Asiwaju Progressive Forum, Hon. Jelili Adewale Adeogun on Wednesday January 5, celebrated his 57th birthday.

The celebration was held at Jelad Entrepreneur Training and Event Center, Abeokuta, Ogun State.

Adeogun who revealed at the event that he had been celebrating his birthday since he was 18, dedicated his 57th birthday celebration to Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu “and our collective struggle to achieve the presidential mandate under his leadership in 2023.

The celebrant described Tinubu as an astute politician with progressive mindset.

“He is the leader of progressive politics, and the greatest nurturer of political talents in Nigeria, he said, and expressed happiness to be one of Tinubu’s disciples.

He then used the opportunity to thank him for “his impacts in the socio-economic and political development of Nigeria.”

“I believe in a united and progressive Nigerian with economic empowerment and sustainable development. I am confident that at this moment of national challenges for nation building, a nationalist with exceptional skills of bridge-building, socio-economic and political charisma wants to restore sanity and impactful leadership for national development,” he said.

Hon. Adeogun said Asiwaju Tinubu is a leader, a mentor and a role model to him and millions of Nigerians home and abroad.

“We are grateful to Asiwaju Tinubu for his cosmopolitan benevolence with national and international significance and recognition.

“The political atmosphere is saturated with agitations for leadership in 2023.

“For the office of the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria in 2023, I have pitched my tent with Tinubu as the best, most credible and developmentally focused candidate for the exalted position.

“I have joined several groups to galvanise support and appeal to him to contest as President of Nigeria in 2023.

“I am happy to say that the appeal by millions of Nigerians across the federation is heeded and the official declaration to that effect is eminent.

“I am also confident that our political party, the All Progressives Congress (APC), will give him the platform, mandate and total support to actualise our collective expectations for the greater good of the society.

“I am using my 57th birthday to celebrate the Asiwaju of Lagos, and make a solemn commitment to massively campaign and mobilise support for his presidential ambition,” he said.

As a member of SWAGA, APF, TNT, COSGABAT, ADAM, TSO, TSG among others, Adeogun promised to dedicate his time, energy and resources for grassroots mobilisation for Asiwaju’s presidential project.

“The aim of Asiwaju Progressive Forum is to join forces with other Asiwaju groups in aspiring for the candidacy of our principal through our party (APCP), given the mandate and go ahead to contest and win presidential election and be swore-in as the president elect come May 2023,” he said.

Meanwhile, Honourable Adeogun inaugurated National Executives of the forum, which he said he particularly brought the inauguration to Abeokuta because most of other groups held their inauguration either in Lagos or Abuja.

He said that he discussed with the National Executive Council to take their inauguration out of either Abuja and Lagos, and on Wednesday January 5

He added that he was excited as it was inaugurated, adding that he was happy and overwhelmed with the number of visitors who witnessed the inauguration in Abeokuta.

To round the activities off, Honorable Adeogun offered to provide free training on entrepreneurship such as fishing, computer, and other trade free of charge for the jobless and unemployed in Abeokuta.

“We all know that Asiwaju is a leader, he’s been a fisher of fishermen, he’s groomed leaders,” he said, adding that he wanted to follow his footsteps by grooming leaders, free of charge.

He stated that he has been doing the free training for the past 15 years though in another location, and revealed that he decided to bring it to Abeokuta because it was a town, hoping that in the next couple of years, graduands from the area with training from the center would be some of the best in Nigeria.

Hon. Adewale Adeogun then prayed for good life and good health for Tinubu as he prepared to serve Nigeria.
