A 25 storey building has collapsed in Gerrald area of Ikoyi, Lagos.

The building collapsed in the afternoon on Monday November 1st, 2021.

Our corresondent who monitored the collapsed building said officials of Lagos State Emergency Agency were on ground to and ready to rescue victims from rubble.

As at the time of filing this report, four people have been confirmed dead while some rescued victims have been taken to nearby hospital, while rescue is on-going at the scene.

“ It was learnt all first responders are en route to secure the scene while the heavy-duty equipment and life detection equipment have been dispatched.”

Our correspondent learnt, the Deputy Governor of Lagos State, Babafemi Hamzat, has arrived at the scene of the incident.

This is according to the Lagos State Commissioner of Police, CP Hakeem Odumosu, who spoke to newsmen at the scene of the incident.

He, however, could not ascertain the cause of the collapse, saying it should be left to technical experts.
